Unless there is a 4th stimulus or more than 3,000 senior Captains are willing to retire in order to save the bottom guys, it will take a miracle to avoid a Re-Furlough. Don’t worry about a “no furlough” clause, in bankruptcy everything is renegotiated. That’s what code 1113 is for.

Reality soon will hit the aviation industry.

    Good Luck!

Last month 2 Premium trips for me. First time in 24 years. SWA has cnx more flights than even AA, due to a lack of QAL (Qualified/Available/Legal) pilots. Very likely a rough summer schedule with pilots pushed hard, involuntary or voluntary.

Lack of pilots is not the problem…is an excuse!

    From AA:

    Looking forward to 2022

After bringing in our March 17, 2020 class last month, we have been busy working behind the scenes to ensure a flawless return to pilot hiring. We will welcome our first class of brand-new faces on Sept. 8, with classes approximately every other week through the end of the year, and that’s when things will really heat up!

We’ve announced our plan to hire more than 1,000 new pilots next year, and while the precise number is still changing, you can expect that we will hire more pilots in 2022 than we have in any calendar year in our company’s rich history. Throughout this process, we will continue to rely on your recommendations – more now than ever.

Our best source for new hire pilots is you! You know who you want to sit next to on the flight deck, and submitting your recommendations through our application website is the best way to ensure their expedited success. The direct web address for submitting a recommendation through the application site is aa.pilotcredentials.com/recommendations; you’ll also find it on AAPilots under Pilot Hiring > Recruitment. When submitting your letter of recommendation, be sure to use your aa.com email address and your employee number. You’ll also need the email address the applicant used for their application as that’s how we connect your recommendation to the correct applicant.

wouldn't it be funny to see how many recs I could get….
I don’t think I’d actually leave where I’m at, but I’d love to see their face when I told them, no, never mind.

So are you implying the return of AA pilot hiring won't be "Flawless"?

I just want to see where the payroll money is going to come from in 33 days. The government money stops and Parker is not generating enough revenue to cover the payroll and the rest of the expenses. More planes on the way to be permanently retired and the debt is sitting right now at $84B and counting. Soon we will find out.

“American Airlines' parent company, AMR Corp., filed for bankruptcy on November 29, 2011. The company had over $25 billion in assets… and over $29 billion in debt.”

Two airline giants said that they would cancel tens of thousands of planned layoffs because of aid earmarked for them in the $1.9 trillion stimulus measure passed by Congress this week, an early sign of job losses averted by the landmark package.

    March 11, 2021

Has the 4th Stimulus (for airlines) measure been announced yet? Because if the answer is NO…

The same 13,000 employees maybe more will get their layoffs notices this time.

“American Airlines said it planned to rescind notices it sent last month to 13,000 employees about coming layoffs.“

    March 11, 2021

Get ready!! a greAAt show is about to begin in
    30 days.

More planes scheduled to be retired soon. And no one is paying attention to the shrinking fleet.

AA will be a POWERHOUSE in 2023, but at the expense of all their employees.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...stimulus-jobs/

Southwest to Cut Fall Flights Following Tough Summer

“Southwest airline said it would cut an average of 27 flights a day from Sept. 7 through Oct. 6, and 162 daily flights from Oct. 7 through Nov. 5. Southwest plans to make additional cuts in November and December, though it said it would work to protect holiday bookings.”
    -8/26/2021 - Dow Jones-

If it is tough for Southwest, hard to imagine how rough must be for AA, that depends so much on “Business Travelers” & “International Market.” And now is relying only on “Domestic Market.” And with a $84B debt, wonder if they have considered Bankruptcy as their only way out and to negotiate all expired/amendable contracts.

November 29th…” a date which will live in infamy.”

“Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

3Q2021 Complete, what lies ahead for 4Q2021?

I believe several issues (Real Estate, Supply Chain, shipping containers, truck drivers, available workers, Energy, CCP sweeping non-pragmatic controls, Covid-19, etc.) from the 2nd biggest world economy will ripple all financial markets. Remember "Buy Low, Sell High". GLTA

The only thing you forgot was Legacy Airlines unable to pay their payroll without government money, their current revenue will not be enough to cover their actual payroll…other than that, you got it all. 60 days clock is ticking.

Looks like they’re having trouble getting cash without tying it to collateral that wouldn't be subject to bankruptcy…..

Add their inability to make payments “on time” to their employees…that wouldn’t be subject to bankruptcy either. 🤫

    “Here’s your sign”

November 29th will be a great day to file for Bankruptcy, since it marks, the 10th year anniversary of last Bankruptcy.

What's up gents!? Just thought I'd pop back in here after a year or two off and see if this forum was still as pathetic as it was when I left. Did not disappoint. Carry on at that dump ENY and that dump, whatever you call that **** ACMI you're at Cuj. Things here at AA aren't perfect, for sure. But I'll gladly take it over those **** boxes you two work at. See ya next year fellas for another update.

Gotta say that I have to agree with some of what you say. This place, long vacant and dusty, aside from two old hobos who DON'T EVEN WORK HERE that show up regularly and spew a bunch of anti AA nonsense. It's a shame. If this place went Cujo-free some years back, then it might alive and vibrant with all of the new hires Envoy is bringing through the doors now. I'm right here with you at AA and things are spectacular. With the amount of hires and retirements on the horizon, you're about to see the Voy explode in growth and flow. Mark my words. A year from now, the projections are going to be a SUB 5 year flow.

we aren’t a box hauler any more than AA is. Troop carrier mostly. We didn’t furlough or park planes the entire pandemic. In fact we kept hiring until December 2020, and we restarted hiring again in October. I’ll take my executive platinum, emerald, mosaic status, and diamond Hilton status, with never jumpseating or crashpads or buying a hotel, while doing about 8 flights a month over any schedule I’ve seen from friends from my class that flowed. They’re doing that many flights in 2-3 days… occasionally having to buy a hotel and Jumpseat. No thanks. You keep it.
I’m glad your happy though. Rest assured I am too.
