JetBlue code sharing again. Will take on flying in BOS and NY plus they will be doing a LHR flight when they get the 321XLR.

This feels vaguely familiar. Hopefully they won’t cede everything to them again like they did the Caribbean.

The flip side is to never let a good disaster go to waste. With AA having abandoned routes every time JetBlue showed up there is very little overlap. They could take a page from Government and spend their way out of a bad position by buying JetBlue. With so little overlap it’s pretty certain the feds would allow it.

In 2010 the same exact announcement was made. But all the flying that AMR gave/transferred to JetBlue back then, never returned to AA. Wonder if JetBlue was originally created with AMR cash?

Lots of new planes and young pilots...not good for flows or furloughs pilots.

And as simple as that, you take care of all the retirements in AA. Not looking good, at least for the pilots now that the APA Negoitating Committee... “Resigned”.

But there is always hope, that agreement only lasted 4 years. But the flying’s gone.

Wasn’t code sharing limited to 15% of total AA flying? Was an exemption to that granted too? It seems with all the OneWorld partnerships and codeshares that the 15% would have been maxed out long ago... just the Alaska flights eats up a huge chunk right?

Yes there is a 15% clause in the contract. What I find interesting is the total number of narrow body pilots in NY and BOS is 1331 which just seems very close to the 1200 number of furloughs that I heard

Well us air mgt has always wanted to get rid of jfk and bos as crew bases.
Dont know if being one world member eats up any of the 15 percent domestic codeshare clause. Be thankful its 15 percent, the original bk contract was 50 percent.
