What’s the magic number in the APA contract that triggers shedding regional CPA’s..... that’s the likely floor in worst case.
somebody shoot me a current APA CBA, mines several years out of date.

Still 7300. If it gets bad would you mind walking in a resume?

    JCBA Rev.1 SECTION 1 - 4 November 1, 2015

    Cockpit Crewmember Floor.
In the event that the number of cockpit crewmembers employed by the Company on the American Airlines Pilots Seniority List goes below 7300, the parties agree that the commuter exception contained in this Section D. shall be terminable at the option of APA following a 90- day period to provide an opportunity for discussion. If APA elects to require termination of the commuter exception, the Company shall thereafter have a reasonable time to complete the disposition of the operations covered by this Section D. during which period the parties shall meet in good faith and discuss the issues related to such termination. Pilots added to the American Airlines Pilots Seniority List by way of seniority merger shall not count in calculating the number of cockpit crewmembers for purposes of this paragraph 3.

Is it a block hours or departures figure? I’d love to know what that is and where we are.

... pilots added to seniority list by merger not counting towards that 7,300.

The 7300 floor limit was essentially nullified in the last furlough by arbitrator’s ruling. The arbitrator ruled pilots of furlough were still “employed” by the company. Obviously crazy and eliminates the whole point of the provision, but the interest of big business rule at the NMB, so remember that when it comes time to defend a contract. If AA furloughs put the pilot group below that number, it’s armageddon anyway as that’s about 50%.

50% is a very dynamic number, considering traffic is still low compared to same time last year, below 80%. And 35% will be “Peak Demand” for the rest of 2020, not including the effects of the “surge”.

Yes, I will walk in yours anytime if it comes to that. We had a new hire class just start, and another is being filled for next month. First year pay is $123.42 per hour now. Get your security clearance and go fly the 80 hour guarantee stuff... $9874 a month first year.

2,500 warning letters for pilots is more like a “warning shot.”
Unfortunately, historically speaking Doug Parker will have a new “Updated” number coming soon. And that will apply for all departments.

25k warning letters are not enough...payroll is still too high and MUST come down at all cost. This will be the rebirth of AA as...“The New American”

AAG needed to issue, 38,000 warning letters to have a chance in this recovery. 25K was just a starting number.
