We never furloughed anybody, they never even talked of it. There were no requests for contract concessions. We parked two 767-200’s for about a week or so before they shifted gears and took on additional work elsewhere. We continued hiring while everybody else was furloughing. I do reserve from my house, not from a crashpad. They fly me positive space to my assignment, and I keep the air miles. We get hotels everywhere, even in bases, once we leave home, and we keep the points. We have crew cars for our use at the training center. Life here is very easy compared to the hustle, plane swaps, crazy schedules I’ve seen at AE/AA.

it’s not a better job, it’s a different job. Our biggest problem is keeping landing currency. I’ve been home since Dec 18th, and I don’t go back until Jan 17th. I’m doing 17-23 in Dallas at the training center helping in the sims for PC’s and PT’s. So, a 7 day month. I’ve got a day off in between each sim session, any good golf courses around Irving?
Good on ya for that schedule. Hackberry Creek is a great course in Irving. I'm up for 18.

I'm a member and can get us in. Some guys over at The Palace sponsored me in in 19. Maybe Joey can join us? Gotta check the sked first.

19 & 21 are days off. I don’t want to lug the bag if we’re not playing. So, be comfortable with the idea of outing your identity. If not, that’s fine, I just don’t want to check the clubs if I’m not playing.

Understandable. Don't lug them then. Not 100% sure of re-arranging the sked. No problem with outing myself. Maybe in the future.

I'll be down there a lot it looks like; they only have about 5 us they use in the training center that aren't full time instructors. I'm sure we can get some dates to line up for a round or two. Once Vegas-Honolulu restarts I'll bid that again. That was like a paid vacation every month, plus the hotel kept my clubs for me.

No thanks Chris. I canít imagine socializing with someone who presents himself the way you do here and on APC. Cuj must have different standards, so you guys have at it. Besides, Iím sure this club doesnít allow players who canít even balance their checkbooks.

Well, I'm serious about it when we get a chance. Out of curiosity, if you were still at the Voy, what do you think of the 175?

ive flown the Jumpseat on 175/190 plenty of times when commuting back in the day. Honestly, I’d bid the 145. I’m not interested in flying larger aircraft for the same pay as 145’s. It’s a good airplane, but it doesn’t belong at a regional. It’s better for passengers. I think it’s the wrong plane for regionals. New pilots need to learn to hand fly a jet aircraft. Going from a Seminole to an E175 denies them of so much learning. I liked when we had Saab and ATR’s with E145 and CRJ’s.

Training says I’ll can plan on being back next month. I’m on long call RSV at home 1st to 17th. We are doing a crapload of repo’s in/out of AFW so I may end up taking one from deep cleaning / maintenance out to a base or station a day or two also before they send me back to DFW. They pretty much deep clean one plane a day over there, sometimes two.

I will say the FOs that I fly with that came from the 175 are light years ahead of the guys that didn't when it comes to understanding and trusting VNAV.

The problems come in when the automation is off.
Exactly the thing the FAA has been hot on for a while.

He asked which one I’d pick. I agree it’s easier to teach VNAV PTH/SPD to E175 drivers. But the differences can bite them unexpectedly.

good but old VNAV video 75/76

not what I said, nor would I ever even try to make that kind of comparison. It was an industry wide statement.

I know it is a industry wide statement, and I also know Omni does a much better job of training with the automation off than Atlas and it shows on the line. I sadly have many new hires that by 1200 feet AP is on and hand is already off the yoke.
