A new era begins in the regional industry.
    TSH appears to be done.
Compass is hanging by a thread with 20 AAG owned hulls, and TSA is having 36 145s transferred to XJT for UAL flying.
XJT just published a memo about getting the additional 145s, and the transfer of ALL 25 175s on their certificate to SkyWest.
    Interesting times ahead.

Wow...it appears UAL is shuffling chairs on the titanic at this point in regards to their feed. Also not mentioned is that GoJet is getting Mesa CRJ-700s. Maybe itís time to just bring all the flying in house?

All part of the inevitable consolidation of the weakening regional airline industry. The weak antelope will either be left behind to collapse or be consumed by the stronger members of the herd. In the coming years, many pilots fresh from entry-level flying positions with the requisite hours will either go directly to better employers than regionals or endure very short tenures at them resulting in high turnover.

Watch for a Commutair ExpressJet merger announcement in the coming months.
I also wouldnít be surprised to see a PDT/ENY merger in the future.
The pilot shortage is slowly working its way up the ladder.

A merger between PDT/ENY would be catastrophic for the envoy pilots. Looking at their seniority list PDT has more senior pilots than ENY. It will delay even more the flow of Envoy pilots to AA. US Air, keeps taking care of their own, at the Envoy expense.

Iím pretty confident that current leadership would make sure that some sort of flow fence would be in place so as not to adversely affect pilots from either group.
I do think that DOH SLI would happen though.
That might ruffle the feathers of the younger crowd.

In a merger, McCaskill-Bond would be the methodology. You can be sure each group would seek to maximize their interests in negotiation and if no agreement, arbitration. SLI would likely be pretty straightforward with ALPA merger policy either way, but no guarantee’s (or control) of flow in arbitration.

It might help to look at the percentages of annual flow vs. total pilots. It would seem Envoy pilots would be at a disadvantage at least during 2020, but I doubt a merger could be completed before then.

Well according to you, the future is already catastrophic for Envoy and AA anyway. So who cares? Only 1 year to go until Armageddon.

The inevitable is still in place as planed and scheduled, letís hope the Coronavirus doesnít accelerate the decisions Doug Parker has on hand.

“career expectations” considerations during any SLI would provide some protection, up to the unions to hash it out.
