to shrink even more, as new hires off the street will increase tremendously.

Nothing new here, expect to get your 10+ year pin from your CPO, before you flow.

At the same time that mainline, legacy, major & ACMI hiring was projected to really take off... and has been happening.
I hate to say it but their 5.5-6 year projection is a lot more accurate than the 9 year estimate from elsewhere.

Perhaps a refreshment by you (or someone else) as to when the flow slows internally. IIRC, it's supposed to go down to 15/month or something soon for about a year to get through a certain segment of pilots. Considering AA claims to plan to hire upwards of 1300 pilots next year, even at present rates, that would be a significant loss of seniority for present AA flow hopefuls. If it coincides with the brakes slamming on here to 15/month, that would be a severe loss of senioirty. 15 slots/month out of 100+ is indeed a trickle.

One would think a new coat of gold spray paint will have to be applied to this turd along with a blast or two of Aqua Di Gio to convince the pie-eyed AA hopefuls to stick around?

it Changes like the wind, and they’ll do what’s needed to keep it at 5.5-6 years. Wait and see.
