    A man of his word!

Doug Parker: “Passengers Want On-Time Departure Over Great Customer Service.”

    November 2018

American Airlines CEO: “We are not asking our customers to be happy with anything.”

    January 29, 2015

Why American Airlines CEO Doug Parker wants to be paid less than peers at United, Delta...

That’s just the way Parker wants it, it turns out, he is paid 15 to 20 percent less than other large airline CEOs.

An American spokesman said Parker’s request to be paid less than other airline CEOs dates back to his pre-merger days as the head of US Airways.

"We are fourth of four," Parker said. "There are going to be times when of the four of us, somebody's fourth.

Parker said, "the world US Airways is used to {where} we can't pay what others pay because we can't afford it."

"What we will say is we have to be competitive, when we sign contracts..." Parker said, "We cannot get into a world where every time someone leapfrogs us, we leapfrog them immediately; that would be a never-ending process."

American's commitment, he said, is that "when others get ahead of us, while it may feel really bad at the time, that's good news"

The F/A’s contract is amendable soon. That puts all AA front-line “aircraft” labor in the same Bankruptcy contract boat that is rudderless in its destination. Mechanics & FSC’s, pilots and soon F/A’s. You can’t provide a competitive product dependent on front-line service with gate agents alone.

Parker can’t fix the product without fixing the relationship and culture, but that takes $. They don’t have it. Oh sure, they are technically profitable (for now), but WAY behind Parker’s previously stated (fantasy) metrics of 3-7 billion net profit years. THAT was supposed to pay off the monstrous debt at the proper rate. It ain’t, that’s why they preferred to borrow to make pension payments (loans can be renegotiated or dumped in C11). They are WAY behind even their plan and besides, they are required to keep minimum liquidity levels which also requires all the present reduced profit metrics, but that will vaporize in two modest loss quarters. Then, they’ll either have to start burning the furniture for heat (think contraction), but no airline ever shrunk to profitability or there is the other option (think the number 11), but neither fixes the product and in fact is almost certain to worsen it.

    Catch-22 for AA.

They can’t fix the product now and AA’s future looks all but certain to be a choice of bad or worse with timing the only variable to that inevitable destination all rudderless boats end up at. Parker and any of the top echelon will paddle away safely in their dinghies, but to all junior at AA or plan to be in the next few years...........

What’s in your savings account?.....because that’s your life preserver.

Ever heard the term "I bet old XXX over there could take the chrome off a trailer hitch?" Well, all I will say is that the nose to approximately passenger doors of my Envoy 175 model has a marked difference of the silver on the paint job.

Yeah, see how ridiculous that is? That's about what your blah blah blah blah blah sounds like. I bet you love hearing yourself so much that you record yourself and then translate that to typed text on this and other forums.

Ever heard of the saying “live up to what you promise”? While we’re at it, go and review the term RETIREMENT. You promised it, now live up to your promise. Remember, by your own admission, you have a full plate adding a new identity over on APC. Grifting and associated misrepresentation is a very busy profession.

Dacu’sj love is reserved for a man like Dacuj, because no one else is deserving.

If there's one thing he cannot tolerate, it is facing himself and what he has apparently become. ANYTHING, but that. I don't think he remembers his formal resignation from this forum as that was likely a demonstration of one component of his mental illness that being denial. His "1:21 AM" post looks to me to clearly be a product of attempting to self-medicate that illness and of course, failing yet again. I think we are dealing with an individual in extreme psychological dire straights. He clearly needs some type of intervention and I sincerely hope some individual or entity can reach him in time.
