    "From The Table" Newsletter question?

I just read the "From the table" Newsletter where they explain PBS and some false ideas about this system. One thing they fail to mention, which they should just man up and admit so their membership knows whats coming down the tube is the our pay. As they stomp out a lot of the rumors out there, they fail to be honest with us and tell us just how PBS will affect our pay. I know it may hit some harder than others, but it would be nice if they would come out and state it. I'm guessing I'll lose on average about 5 hours of pay per month.

My question though, pertains to their statement about the head count around here after PBS. The negotiating team states that the headcount will not be reduced, in fact they state we will need more people once FT/DT is started. So if we are going to need more people and we are not getting any new flying, is it correct to assume that will mean the current amount of flying to be spread over more heads?

I am very concerned about the pay cuts coming through not only with PBS, but also FT/DT. I see PBS killing any overlapping pay from transition, but also a reduced work schedule. I'm wondering how much this is actually going to hurt our gross income. One won't even be able to support ones self on an FO salary if we are reduced further. I'm here 6 years and work my ass off each month and I still don't walk away with much in my pockets on pay day. If they reduce that even further, I don't see how this job alone will be able to support a person, let alone if someones got a Family.

Depending on transition/7 day conflicts and clock milking is not a solid financial plan. The question isn't can you live on less, it's are you willing to live on less.

Given the way we were sold this POS contract, and managements ignoring of some of its provisions already, I'm very leery of PBS and their negotiations. I don't trust any of them, and will probably vote no unless a new MEC steps in.

Of course they'll dangle some carrots and drop some fear, and I'll be in the 25% minority. Again.
    Always smooth.
