Trying to maximize revenue with what they have ? Not a bad thing, but both AA’s and Envoy’s woes go MUCH deeper then that and unless addressed, the path forward into the past continues.

This announcement will be related to mainline routes and have nothing to do with "the Voy".

More seasonal service. Sounds more like a charter operation than a scheduled airline. Nothing new here just plan your vacation somewhat easier.

More long haul 757 ? No new assets, so trot out the tired old mules. Perhaps Parker is planning on loading up on stocks of orthopedics and blood thinners ?

It's spectacular news! AA's first jaunt into Africa. Good news at the Voy as we will likely have more domestic holes to fill with the 175.

Some people are just dumb as a rock. Charter service my a**. You have your apps out right ardvark? Not that anyone would hire you or that you are even smart enough to move on.

At his age/seniority, why would he have his apps out ? He’s probably in one of the better future places. Once AA scope is busted (sorry flows, you’re hosed), most of the benefits will be plopped in his lap. Yes, not much more pay or QWL, but definitely job security and a larger and/or more capable aircraft and as you imply, some interesting new destinations. I expect some Caribbean action in the future.

BTW, just got word AAG slid their proposal across the table to APA and word has it, it is shall we say..........tepid, at best. Modest pay increases, work rule concessions and a lot of vague outlines. Expect an indeterminate period of kicking the can a’la the mechanics perhaps with a court order or two until they get the reasoning and environment they need to take by force. AA is slated to eventually become a smaller carrier, so all those retirements won’t mean what many assume they do. You simply cannot run a Walmart operation soundly until you get complete Walmart labor costs.

5 years from now, AA pilots will be on par with the other LCC’s as that will be their competition both internationally and domestically. The premier legacies like Delta and United will be in a different pilot employer category. Same with Southwest who due to efficiencies will continue to offer high compensation in exchange for productivity. AA on the other hand will pay mediocre compensation for that same productivity. Presently at least 6th place in pilot employers and falling.

What’s in your savings account ?

I too have the inside word on the new proposal to APA and once again you are wrong. Great gains for the pilots with minor productivity tweaking from the company side.

You are right that Envoy will get in on the Caribbean action. And that's about it. The rest of your post is your usual prescription of wholly useless info that isn't correct and more anti AAG posturing.

The APA disagrees with you. I have no doubt AAG management on the other hand approves of your spin. We here are fully aware of the birds nest of bad wiring between your ears, so short-circuit all you want.

Finally, a snippet of something with substance. Glad you agree AA and Envoy pilots alike should heed these two concerns.

How about a roundhouse kick right in your chops for being so obtuse. You can't fix stupid and that's what most of you here are DESPITE having a sub 6 flow to AA.

    From APA:

“Writing to you today to discuss some potential issues developing in negotiations with the APA. It’s no secret that Parker wants Ready-Reserves on Airport Standby and hard call-out times, and it’s also no secret that line-holders don’t like the current Reassignment rules of their awarded trips.”

The senior pilots will get get a pay raise, to make the junior pilots sit airport ready reserve.

The New American...Envoy with bigger planes, better pay rates, same QOL.

Here’s the rest of what was said in the communication that was quoted.

    *** Reserve Improvements ***

Hi Guys, John Dwyer here, hope all is well. I’m writing to you today to discuss some potential issues developing in negotiations with the APA. It’s no secret that Parker wants Ready-Reserves on Airport Standby and hard call-out times, and it’s also no secret that line-holders don’t like the current Reassignment rules of their awarded trips.

The talk from the line-holders is; Give Parker his standbys & times, and take away our involuntary reassignments.

The problem is that the APA has never really viewed Reserve as something worth improving, their focus has always been on line holders. Their thinking is that junior pilots pass through reserve briefly and once senior enough, having paid their dues, move on to line holding nirvana.

As former Envoy pilots, we know all too well, how L-O-N-G “briefly passing through reserve “ can be (for reasons outside of our control) and how ready-reserve can be abused by scheduling. We all remember that horror story and who wants to repeat it?

Whether you’re currently a line-holder or not is of little importance to the state of reserve; a good reserve system benefits ALL of us. You may live in-base, like I do now, and actually choose to bid reserve for personal reasons. And certainly, You may find yourself back on reserve to get specific days off, or during a vacation month and assuredly when you upgrade. Either way, sacrificing one group for the benefit of another should not be part of the negotiations. Improving reserve might actually result in more senior folks bidding it, opening up more line-flying to junior/commuter pilots who want it.

I encourage ALL of you to let the APA leadership know that Ready-Reserve is a non-starter and that true reserve improvement is the goal. Use the “Sound Off” function in the APA mobile app. It delivers your message to ALL the APA leadership. It can be found under MobileLinks / Sound Off”
