The Kool-Aid has been flowing for decades. Most of the people from back then got sick off the juice one way or another. The only difference now is there is a new cadre that hasnít gotten poisoned by the Kool-Aid yet.

Parker is America West at heart. He converted US Airways into a larger America West and has poisoned AA into being that now too.

Just an Allegiant on steroids now. Itís being widely reported by many AA pilots the AA operation is out of control with rampant reassignments, deadheading, cancellations, fatigue calls and what not. Not the mechanics nor the MAX situation, just a company falling apart due to incompetent leadership and disorganization.

Do tell Mr. Hater. Let Wall Street speak instead of a former pilot that hates the company.

Nothing to see here, move along. AA is just fine thank you. If they weren't, then why was unit revenue guidance raised 10 days ago? Why did the stock surge 2% over the same previous 10 days? Oh yeah, it's the company falling apart. Right.

I could easily include multiple stories and articles of AA’s substandard performance, but what’s the point ? As the grifter extraordinaire of this forum, you just deny it.

Stock prices rise and fall. How about AA’s miserable profit collapse ? It’s weak market cap ? It’s chaotic reliability ? It’s floundering product ? You’re in denial. Still on the other day’s E-175 post coital bliss, no doubt.

    Because of massive layoffs...

Severance went up from $20M to $58M
Massive layoffs will continue. Thatís why the stock went up.

There have been several stock bumps recently. The pathetic 2018 earning call earlier this year which was mostly spin resulted in a bump, but it didnít last.

AAís fundamentals are just to weak to sustain any spike of significance. AAís downside risk is too great moving forward.

I donít remember there being a lot of kool aid back then. It was just a different time. It had more of a family feel to it, less of a big corporate machine. We knew most of the crews and agents and would go out of our way to help each other out.

That was then, this is now.

    Selective memory ?

Every contract negotiation (Amendment round) was filled with Kool-Aid from both company and union and in the case of the latter, from the East Texas mafia all the way to Team Tony and his “Collaborators”. Letter 3 itself was the biggest jug of Kool-Aid ever made. It got 124 Eagle pilots to AA in the first 14 years and 3-4 times that many AA and TWA pilots to the left seat at Eagle with a dozen arbitrations. The contract was violated with impunity with the traditional AMR “fly it and grieve it” mentality, now warmly embraced by AAG. Sure, it was a closer pilot group and there were positives, but it was indeed a sugary world as is always has been in this hopelessly dysfunctional entity, regardless of name, identity or management. It’s easy to miss and/or forget that as it blends in so well with today. There is one major difference though and that’s the plethora of ardent grifters willing to throw other pilots under the bus to grease their hopeful climb up the management ladder.

They were always there, but much less publicly vocal then they are now who are far more sinister, although as we can see here, MUCH less talented and all but certain to fail miserably in their quest.

the real point is according to their own annual stockholders report, if you dig through the tables and do the math, without the AAdvantage income, AAL would be losing money instead of posting the very minor, underperforming profit.

The report speaks for itself, the airline runs in the red big time. The AAdvantage program is all that saved it. With the looming credit crisis that has been hanging over our heads getting worse each year, it’s just a matter of time until the defaults drive the AAdvantage program into the red also.

    Supply and demand. Economics 101.

Horribly managed companies can quite easily make money when there is a supply restriction such as the grounded 737-Max.

Macro trends are much more honest.

So in the last 2 years, AA has lost 36% of its value ($51.28 to $32.90). So there is that. Whatís the rest of the industry done in the same time frame?
