Cancellations are due to ground crew mistaking big dead bugs on wing as a bird strike and flight is delayed then cancelled. Just an opinion.
Worked for envoy.

“American consistently has the most cancellations of any major airline flying in and out of Philadelphia, records show.”
File that under the no **** column. I’m certainly not defending this management group, but it stands to reason the airline with far and away the largest presence at PHL is going to have the most cancelations there.
You’ll be shocked... SHOCKED I tell you to find that... get ready for this... Delta (gasp) has the most cancelations of any major airline...........
(In Atlanta.)

Aren’t those by percentages and not raw numbers ? Airlines with higher percentages would indeed have poorer performance relative to others with less. At any rate, APA spokesman points to scheduling deficiencies which AA management actually validates. I think the bottom line is it’s abundantly clear AA’s performance is substandard.

Exactly what CNBC “Halftime Report" said.

A bean counter someplace in the Crystal Palace used their Weather Event Recovery Program super software to determine that the costs to recover from advance cancellations and immediately begining to preposition the recovery was less expensive that running everything super late, misconnecting crews and planes and causing gridlock, exhasperating the Weather Event Recovery...... so, since it's cheaper to cancel first and then recover and we really do not care about getting the customer where they'regoing, even if it's going to run late, AA just cancels.
It's all about the penny, never about the dollar or the customer.
2021 looming fast

Does not hurt management being that they already have the customers money well up front.

Another black-eye for AA in USA Today. Much more then just the mechanics. MUCH more.

Another red flag in a LONG series of red flags. But, to answer his question directly, I mean how financially prepared are you (all affected pilots at AA or Envoy flows) to withstand a MAJOR alteration in what AA is now and what YOU thought it would be ?
If AAG plays the BK card and whacks scope dumping you off at stagnation station, are you ready both psychologically and financially ?
If that results in a new paradigm putting you back at "Eagle" or a "new entrant carrier" morphed out of the ash heap, are you ready both psychologically and financially ?
...or are you just whistling past the cemetery assuming dacuj and his ilk have it all figured out and the flow to AA is a magic carpet ride to utopia ?
Are you astute students of industry and especially AA history or on autopilot assuming your destination is CAVU with calm winds in perpetuity ?
Hey, it's up to every pilot to decide and do as they see fit, but history proves this "pasture" is littered with manure still visible which also IMO is there to provide important lessons and reminders on assumption and planning.
Caveat Emptor.

Much obliged, this is only a review to accumulate assessments from individuals who work in the aircraft business. We are not selling anything nor posting any advertisements. This is a perfect study for industry experts in particular. For instance, we pose inquiries like "what do everybody considers biometrics or general carrier activity?" After everybody answer it, we send the aftereffect of the overview back to you as motivators so you discover some new information as well.
