I don’t see much celebration in HQ, and across the system, lots of management positions and employees losing their jobs, lots of positions been eliminated, lower and upper management AA employees replaced with US Air employees. After all US Air bought AA.

I guess you are the only one celebrating while others are unemployed.

Is cutting cost (lowering your payroll) time, and that’s how you beat your estimates.

Long lines at the unemployment office.

Too bad you aren't one of the unemployed. Be really nice to get someone as backward as you off the property.

However, that said. What you speak of above is nothing more than a bunch of garbage and LIES. You are just pulling that out of your rear end. Idiot.

Fact against fiction. You know if for over a year aag tells wall street they will not have last years numbers and will be lower. The old boys network lowers the streets expectation and voila aag meets numbers.
An idiot dacuj you is, pulling things out of your azz I dont think so. Your head us up there so far nothing can come out.
    Just an opinion.

Oh great. I get to argue with Dumb and Dumber this morning. I'm betting you two have to get together each morning to help each other figure out what shoe to put on the correct foot. DAs!

    Just Facts.

    Your celebration didn’t last long....
American Airlines stock sank in premarket trading Friday after the carrier lowered its earnings forecast for the year, citing a major financial hit from the ongoing grounding of Boeing's 737 Max jets and higher fuel prices.
The carrier expects a hit to pretax earnings of $350 million after grounding its Max fleet and canceling thousands of flights through August. American also expects 2019 adjusted profit to be between $4 and $6 per share.
Shares in the company fell more than 3% in premarket trading.

Beat Zach’s estimate by $0.01 ? Hardly anything to throw babies up in the air over. Personally, I consider this result deliberately canned to show a result that claims to beat estimates, but in reality doesn’t. Some “creative bookwork” so to speak to put lipstick on a pig for a false impression. Gotta buy some more time.

    How about another metric ?

OK.........net profit was $28 million LESS in 1Q19 vs. 1Q18. Not good. Even worse, aside from the 350 million dollar loss due to the 737 Max issues, about twice that is expected to be suffered due to increasing fuel prices. Just thinking out loud, but if AA’s feeble 1.4 billion net last year is supposed to be almost doubled this year, we should plan on about 2.75 billion net profit for 2019. Subtracting the 245 million banked for 1Q, AA has about 2.5 billion to make in net profit over the next 3 quarters. Don’t forget 1.5 billion (or more) outlay for debt servicing and pension contributions.

Should be interesting to watch. Their 2019 hole actually just got bigger after 1Q’s numbers from my POV. Also remember that if Parkers past prognostications were valid, we’d be in the $3-7 billion range and considering the economy, closer to $7 billion at that. Now, we’re down to a fraction of those Pollyanna projections and already falling short of the latest “revised” downward forecast. IMO, AA should redo their tail logo to display a red flag. Again, it looks to me like the thrust levers are firewalled, the stick shaker is clattering away, already below glideslope and today the VSI just dropped a little more.

I dunno what it will take to make the runway as the approach light stanchions are rising in the windshield ? Retract some flaps maybe ? Pull the gear up and at least make the runway on a belly slide ? What happens when the current “glideslope, glideslope” warning goes to “sink rate, sink rate” or worse yet, (WHOOP, WHOOP) “Pull up”, (WHOOP, WHOOP) “Pull up” ? I guess we can all hope for an unforeseen updraft.

IMO, Brace ! Brace ! Brace ! wouldn’t be a bad cabin P.A. now, just in case.

    Caveat Emptor.

Wow, I guess Da Spooge only gets his news from CNN. Every network I watched today had talking heads actually talking about AAG and the apparent precarious position they seem to be heading for.

The furlough part (at least traditional street) is unlikely IMO. The latter scenario much more likely. But......a situation where a significant portion of mainline Group II goes to the Eagle system or “elsewhere” could result in one of those “bad or worse” situations for those very junior at AA (bottom 10-20%) in a scope relaxation scenario.

Unthinkable changes at both AA and the Eagle system are becoming increasingly possible considering the true picture of where AA is and seems to be destined to be heading. If you were to describe 9/11 to 1000 people on September 10, 2001, 990 (at least) would dismiss that as extremely unlikely although a long shot possibility.

The “hot hand fallacy” is universal in human thought and perception.

Good story by Ted Reed of Forbes about AA’s management bonus plan and how, ahem...........the payout occurs. Personally, I read it that a lot of “creative bookkeeping” (sound familiar ?) gave the management fat cats big $$$ while (as usual) the front-line “team” (as in “One Team-One Plan”) gets scraps (again).

Very consistent behavior. VERY consistent. The future is predictable, because the present is identical to the past. The level of tone-deafness is deafening. Clearly, the philosophy of lining executives and management’s pockets considering AA a cash cow is thriving. The only headache is maintaining the facade front-line employees truly matter. Ignore the mounting red flags if you choose, but doing so will neither make them disappear, nor validate that they don’t existent. It’s your future, so protect yourself.

    Caveat Emptor.

Seriously? Wishing somebody to lose their job? What a jackass thing to say about or to anybody. You’re a real piece of work.

Not really when taken in context. The guy constantly says he HATES it here and continuously posts anti company propaganda. If he hates it that much here, he should leave. You sir are the jackass coming here daily now to sell a third rate fly by night ACMI.

Hey jackass, if american is so great then it does not need you to make up stories to show how great American is. You need the regionals to pay less to guarantee your existence at the worst airline in the usa. But just as I have an opinion. you do too. Difference is your wrong. Cheap seats, cheap snacks. Broken airplanes, cheap tickets. All indications of problems existing and growing.
Why is America the largestc.dairline in the world?

Wishing somebody to leave or quit is a far far cry from wishing they get fired. Your failure to comprehend the difference is astounding. It was, and is, a jackass thing to say... then you doubled down on it with that post....
just when I think I’ve seen all the different forms of pond scum on earth, somebody like you comes along.
    good luck

Is anyone really surprised by anything he espouses now ? He’s already been demonstrated to be an alcoholic who admittedly masturbates to RJ videos.

Nothing new about him should really be surprising anymore.
