The majority of those who have come to Envoy in the last few years are clueless about all of this and will run the Envoy pilot gerbil wheel as long as the sugar water tube of flow to AA is in sight. Don’t even need to taste it, just be told what it is. So focused on the mirage in the distance, they are oblivious to what is around them, but that is EXACTLY what certain powers that be want.

Of course, even a weed needs periodic watering and so.....................I give you the Stooges.

An oldie but a goodie that still holds up. The problem with the new hires (pipeline and RTP) is that they don’t know any better. This is their normal. I don’t blame the RTP guys, it’s a way to get into the 121 world but it seems like all the pipeline guys I fly with just think that so long as they can jump on a plane and go someplace for a day or two on a whim it’s all good.

The Trump Administration’s new effort at strangling Maduro in Venezuela with oil sanctions is likely to drive the price of oil back up. Already near $55 a barrel. The US Shale producers very light crude cannot fill the loss of heavy Venezuelan crude and the Saudi’s are in the process of scaling back production to trim the present market glut which would be bad news for Parker’s claims for increased profits in 2019, unless this situation is short lived. If oil shoots back up to over $70 a barrel, it would likely eat up the supposed increased revenue planned.

Of course, that assumption is nebulous in the first place considering GDP is expected to fall this year, the economy is cooling, interest rates are rising and AA remains strangled with pilot staffing and thus little room to work its pilots even harder who are now flying Envoy schedules to 1000 hours/year. If oil prices climb and stay up and the revenue fails to materialize, the 1.5-2 billion AAG needs this year to fund pensions and service debt could make for a VERY lean year. Also considering both mechanics and pilots are demanding industry-leading contracts, it appears likely AAG will be too broke to even give either of them so much as two bits. On the good news front, it’s being reported that the jets at AA still look shiny, so all is not lost for the AA pilots at Envoy.

    Stay tuned.

No, just passing along info I read. You know how to read, Mongo ? I’d be willing to hear your rebuttal with facts. But, as always I’ll just have to be satisfied with zilch. I’ll say it again.......

    We’re still waiting !

The day he actually provides any form of a factual rebuttal will be the eighth sign of the impending apocalypse.

Absolutely nothing has changed...company keeps playing the Union and wasting your dues...
While the company has a plan...ALPA has no words for an update on recent developments if there are any. In the meantime your MEC Chairman “Houdini” keeps working on his escaping act in front of your eyes.

Doug Parker is making the picture out to be worst than it is. American has dropped to the bottom among the legacies Delta and United. They continue to outperform The New American, even though labor cost at Delta and United is higher than American.

But keeping pace with rising wages is not Doug Parker’s flight plan.

Dough Parker’s attitude is that the fastest way to turn the company around, is to reduce labor costs.

“American Airlines CEO Doug Parker and President Robert Isom have sent out a letter to American employees today announcing upcoming layoffs:
“However, as leaders take the time to look at their organization, there is the potential for some involuntary departures as well.”
    ~June 2018~

"We are intent upon running the most reliable operation in our post-merger history...and cost saving initiatives," Doug Parker said in a statement.
    ~January 24, 2019~

American have trimmed their route system. I wonder who is picking up those routes?

His #1 objective is to cut costs to make a profit. Now is time to provoke our unions, he will give them every reason to join forces. He will push them to the breaking point.
Flight attendants, mechanics, pilots, baggage handlers. He will use psychological warfare and mental intimidation.

Dough Parker is going to use the system to deplete union resources, even if company lose most of their cases. Is just a way to keep the unions busy and off guard.

The stress will begin to show on their employees. Parker wants more productivity from all groups. This is his D-Day, this is the transformation of American Airlines into America West...his masterpiece. We most assume that one group will try to strike. I wonder if Parker has been preparing the company financially solid in the event of a strike?

How many times the word Bankruptcy have been said at headquarters, more layoffs or the possibility of a strike?

Now he will be looking for an excuse to pick up a fight with a union and that fight
will be the beginning of his D-Day.
