Anyone know if it is possible to use your built up sick time for FMLA with a newborn?

Thanks...something to change in the new contract, if it is ours we should be able to use it as we see fit.

You're not sick. Can't use sick time if you're not sick. Plus FMLA is a federal program. Sick time is company.

This is a 2015 final ruling which is after the last contract..... pretty sure the new federal rules take precedence, but ask Wayne Klocke or Sally first. It just changed the "spouse" definition to include all genders.... but it's pretty clear that the intent is for other than the birth mother to have time away also. You could theoretically adopt, and still take FMLA under DOL guidelines.
