    Mergers ?

Heard someplace Envoy hired a new VP. Same guy who orchestrated the Eagles merger back in 1988. Anybody got the details?

I could be wrong, but I do not believe the MEC determines the mergers. They have an active merger committee incase they are told there will be a merger. Due to economic considerations, I think AAG determines mergers affecting one or more of its subsidiaries and keeps that information extremely close guarded and said MEC has no prior knowledge.

    Again, I could be wrong.

Merger announcements by their very nature are closely guarded for obvious reasons, The closest you get before the fireworks might be cagey media “rumblings”. Affected labor is usually the last to know.

    August 25, 2018
The MEC convened a special meeting on August 22, 2018. On the agenda were several housekeeping items, various committee updates, and the appointment of some key positions within our union.
Captain David Michael, Chairman of the Central Air Safety Committee, gave a briefing to the MEC about recent trends – including an uptick in overspeed events which, after the required AML entry and Pipeline report, is causing our pilots to incur PRIA reportable remedial training, even for minor transitory incursions above red line. Additionally, Captain Michael recommended, and the MEC confirmed, Connor Thompson as the new LOSA Chairman. As an analyst for the LOSA program, Connor received high praise from the previous LOSA Chair, Chris Ramirez, who flowed to AA a few weeks ago. The MEC approved this recommendation unanimously.
The Negotiating Committee continues to work on crafting a reserve document for your consideration. This is the third time in recent memory we've attempted to fix our dated reserve system and we are falling behind Endeavor, Republic, and Air Wisconsin rapidly as they continue to pursue gains to their CBA. Negotiating Committee Chairman Adam Rutherford also asked the MEC to appoint KC Gilkes as the Negotiating Committee Liaison to the Merger Committee, a position required by the ALPA policy manual. The MEC approved this recommendation unanimously.
The former MEC Executive Administrator Steven Pallai took over as MEC Chairman when Sam Pool departed for AA earlier this month. Because of this, Steven's previous position has been vacant. The Executive Administrator is an MEC Officer whose role is determined by the Chairman he or she is elected to assist. The MEC unanimously confirmed the Communications Committee Chairman, Andy Fierro, to the role. Andy will continue his duties as Communication Chairman until a replacement can be brought up to speed.
The Contract Compliance Committee also gave an update to the MEC on their recent work and trends. As a Contract Compliance Vice-Chairman has been vacant for some months, the current Grievance Chairman – Brian Ginn – recommended current contract compliance volunteer Dan Behrens for the position. The MEC unanimously confirmed his appointment.
Finally, Chairman Steven Pallai brought forth a resolution to recognize Captain Scott Wasulko, the former MEC webmaster, for his hard work maintaining, updating, and handing over the reins of the MECs website. Scott did a fantastic job, was always responsive to pilot and MEC needs, and will be missed. We wish him well at American and thank him for his service to the Envoy pilots. The MEC unanimously passed a resolution to recognize Scott's service to our airline and its pilots.
As always, should you need us please don't hesitate to call, write, or stop us in the terminal.
    Fraternally,
    The Envoy MEC Officers:

This certainly adds fuel to the fire.

No it doesn’t. They are required to have one- and are just adding the position as it was vacant and not used. So they are filling that void. Tin foil hats anyone.

Who flow first, their senior pilots or our pilots next in line to flow? Is there any protection in the contract to avoid what happened when we merged with Business Express?

A merger of WO’s means all have a similar percentage of flow, yes ? If so, it will likely be based on final SLI ranking which should go by ALPA merger policy.

Guess my sources are still good.... I did some more digging.....

    July 2018 article

Nicks joined American Eagle in 1988 as vice president of administration, managing the human resources, information technology and corporate real estate departments for what was then a multi-carrier regional airline group. In 1998, he played an instrumental role in combining the original five airlines to form American Eagle Inc. Prior to joining American Eagle, Nicks served as vice president schedules and planning......

They didn’t hire Nicks...he just got promoted from VP to SVP. If you want more real estate for your department at EHQ he’s the guy to bless that. A cube czar of sorts.

Glad somebody is going to get a pay raise.

Only low for a select few who can't seem to pull their head out from where the sun doesn't shine.

Maybe if you were out flying the line a little more instead of having your head so far up managements ass, when you were here you might have a better feel of how most pilots feel about things here.

I think that quote refers to the AA brand since Envoy hasn’t merged with anyone in decades. Now it's my turn to ask you (using your drunken grammar) "w TF makes you an expert ? huh riddle me that one cat woman" ?

You’re an Envoy pilot who most recently claimed to not even work at AA, remember ? Since you supposedly don’t work at AA, how would you know about the morale of any AA work groups, let alone be in any valid position to comment on it ? You’re on the outside looking in, right ? Here you are again, strutting around like a puffed up Peacock fanning its plumage as though you are the final word on the internal labor components of airlines you don’t work for.

    Too funny.

Most hypocritical BS I've ever read in my life. You calling out somebody who "supposedly" doesn't work here for posting in the Envoy forum while you post nonstop and 100% admit that YOU DON'T WORK HERE.
