    Wasn't a mechanic. It was a ramper

Iím curious what new security protocols the faa will come up with. Turns out they didnít have to go so far as to break all those pitot tubes years ago

Security seals (like on the galley carts) on the cockpit door ought to help!

Or we can go back to locking the cockpit door. Only pilots and mechanics have keys.

This result would be the most likely and cost effective solution to non-pilot/mechanic access to the cockpit. But it wouldnít stop a rogue from either one of those employee groups. I think this was only possible due to it being a turboprop not mated to a jet bridge. No way someone could get a plane away from the terminal when at a jet bridge without raising all kinds of notice/early intervention.

Perhaps a better solution is some form of wheel lock (boot) on aircraft not mated to a terminal jet bridge including parked mainline jets on peripheral ramp surfaces and commuter aircraft not used with jet bridges.
