TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) Prosecutors say an Arkansas teenager who's not a pilot has been charged with trying to steal an American Eagle passenger jet from Texarkana Regional Airport to fly to an out-of-state rap concert.

Miller County jail records show Zemarcuis Devon Scott, 18, of Texarkana was held Wednesday on commercial burglary and attempted theft of property charges.

Scott was arrested inside the cockpit before dawn on the Fourth of July.

    He was charged Monday.

His bond was set at $25,000.

An affidavit says Scott told Texarkana police, who responded to reports of a man seen jumping an airport fence, that he didn't think there was much more to flying than pushing buttons and pulling levers.

Jail records didn't list an attorney for Scott.

Details weren't immediately available on the concert destination.

Well, you cant fault his initiative and Envoy IS desperate for pilots. I would assume though he'd have to bond out first.

Who’ Idea was to leave the Cockpit doors open? You have to be drunk to make a decision like this.

Gee............with all the REAL answers over at APC, you'd think this wouldn't be the case. Could it be there is indeed a real crisis that answers real or fake can't fix ?

Incorrect. There were three classes in July causing each individual class to appear smaller. Classes have been full for awhile now with a good amount waiting for spots to open.

I hate to break it to you guys, but Envoy is definitely not hurting for pilots at the moment. Perhaps in the future things will change, but Cadet numbers are up, street hires are booking a few months out, and the DEC program is doing it’s job. I know you prefer dealing in facts, and those are the facts.

Then I will accept your facts.

I don’t know about Envoy’s present numbers and was simply reacting to what was presented. But being that as it apparently is, I still stand by my predictions this cannot last long enough to keep the Envoy flow engine running fast enough to ensure present new-hires make AA in the claimed time frame. That would take 6 years of unimpeded Envoy new-hires and that simply won’t last even close to that period.......at least not without a new plan and some MAJOR changes.

Besides, what are the odds the industry cycle will hold up that long anyway ?

The Hot Hand Fallacy is strong right now as it always has been at the peak of a sustained high in the airline industry and right along with it, the irrational exuberance of pie-eyed pilots who WANT to believe no more setbacks will occur.

What he said. The haters only see red and desire to see Envoy collapse. It's so bad that they can't see the truth. Which is, we are swamped with applicants. It's just like I said. They are running for Envoy and it's not letting up. Industry cycle is on the upswing. Thousands, THOUSANDS of retirements at AA over then next 8 years. Get over it.

Distant family member? My line to my wife "he didn't think there was much more to flying than pushing buttons and pulling levers." Out of state RAP concert - No chance.

Bluffing, last class 11 pilots total, only 1 street Captain. Now show me the rest.

Still loosing 30 pilots a month.
    “Denied due to staffing levels.”
    Show some real numbers.

BTW, the 20 compass planes will come with their own crews. Just saying.

Sorry, but he didn’t. 2021 is in black & white. And you are going to be VERY surprised and disappointed that you did not go to another airline. Did you get your APA pin yet?
