"...some cities will begin ticketing and administering fines for non-compliance."

Ticked? Fined by the city for breaking a company policy? Seriously? LOL

Donít be so obtuse! Toronto REQUIRES it for anyone with access to the AOA. Only people exempt there are police officers and wildlife control officers when it would interfere with their duties. Iím sure there are others airports like this.

Then they should post it, what cities they are. Not all airlines require vest, not yet.

Then the company should comply with FM1 regarding safety vests and issue pilots the proper vest.

So we should fine every single pilot at Delta, United, republic, gojet, spirit, Alaska, compass, transstates, air Wisconsin, frontier? What is envoy and AA the only Airlines required to wear them? Also, how can a city fine a person for not complying with a company rule? It's not a law.

Think of the vest as an insurance policy for your family....it will keep their lawsuit alive if/when you get run over and killed on the ramp......if you’re not wearing it, their lawsuit will get tossed out. Pick your battles....there is no rational argument against increasing your visibility while walking on the ramp

While most here are debating the safety vest policy, my initial wow reaction was the company warning itself. Why would a city issue fines for "company policy non-compliance"?
Now, if it happens to be the city law it's a different story. The company email only refers to their own company policy.

That's why I said the co.pany should post the names of the airports that do fine.

No safety vest? No problem, I guess you can't do a walkaround or preflight then?? Sounds like the morning crews problem...

No safety vest? You're in violation of FM1.
