I love to travel and exploring new countries. But buying a new SIM card every time i travel just to get internet connection is just a nightmare! I've tried the Wi-Fi dongle before, but its not really convenient for me as I need to carry it around with me at all times and the battery also runs out so fast. Are there any other solutions for me to get connection when Im travelling beside this 2 options? Please let me know if there is a simpler way to get internet connection, thanks.

I used to grab a sim card from the airport - usually pretty cheap and give you enough data to do what I need. Sprint has what's called "Global Roaming" which allows "2G" speeds in most countries. Basically enough to send messages, email, google, maps, etc. We used to get a pretty good discount through Sprint (25% off) but its considerably less now. TMobile offers something similar I believe.

However, I have found that even just going off WiFi hotspots is enough to get me around most countries.

If you travel occasionally (like twice a year), local sim card is the best. However, if you're travelling all the time, try FlexiroamX. It's a SIM sticker technology that allows you to stick it on top on your exisiting SIM, giving you the ability to switch freely between your exisiting sim network and the Flexiroam network, which you will not need to change SIM card anymore. They have access in over 130 countries.. I personally find it quite affordable for the convenience. Try it.

Figured this was an ad scheme but gave OP the benefit of the doubt. Both June accounts and first posts.

Hey TravelMinon - what revision FM1 are we on? AZMI123, what does say....electronic page 268 of the FM1 talk about?

Guess there is nothing against this type of thing, cause if you look over at the Hotel section its all ads for bootleg streams. But hey, I guess this is a nice break from the usual suspects?
