Looks like the new ORD 175 may be TDY right off the bat!

Props to the guy on the APC forum that found this.

The Des Moines International Airport revealed Thursday that American Airlines is adding twice-daily flights to Philadelphia, starting in May. Envoy Air, doing business as American Eagle, will operate the daily flight using Embraer 175 aircraft, airport spokesperson Brent McHenry said. Philadelphia International Airport is a hub for American, with many flights departing from there for Europe. Tickets will be available for sale beginning October 7. "We are extremely pleased that American has made a decision to add new service to Philadelphia", Airport Director Bradley Livingston said in the release. Frontier, a discount airline, will offer flights to the city three days a week. The first flights to take off include Islip, New York, Minneapolis, Providence, Colorado Springs and St. Louis. New service from PHL to San Antonio begins February 15, 2018, followed by service to Des Moines, Iowa; Madison, Wis.; and Omaha, Neb., May 4, 2018. PHL serves as American's primary East Coast transatlantic hub, according to the airline. Flights from Dane County land in 14 cities across the US, and the flights to Philadelphia offer connections to 80 USA cities and 30 worldwide locations.”

Whelp, there ya have it! Intice the folks who want to bid ORD, then immediately either TDY them or displace them to PHL. Why? Because who would actually bid PHL in the 1st place. Personally, I'm ok with it as a TDY.

Whoa hold up. How many different destinations did we serve out of DFW on the CRJ with no base there in the past few years?? That was all fly-through.

This is totally jumping the gun.

Most definitely. Envoy also does XNA-DCA, XNA-PNS, SGF-CLT. I suppose we're opening DC, Pensacola, and Charlotte bases as well.

Just basing it off of what our resident company man that sits in on the strategic planning sessions has said. Don’t shoot the messenger!

Sorry but its republic not envoy.

Below is from Jetwire Oct 4.

PHL to gain nonstops to four cities
We recently announced new international flying from PHL, and now we’re excited to announce new domestic nonstop destinations in 2018. On Feb. 15, we’ll begin new daily service to San Antonio (SAT) using Airbus A319 aircraft. On May 4, we’ll begin daily service to a trio of cities: Des Moines, Iowa (DSM); Madison, Wisconsin (MSN); and Omaha, Nebraska (OMA), all operated by Republic as American Eagle with Embraer 175 aircraft. And effective March 25, we’ll upgauge one of our PHL-LAX frequencies to an A330-200 aircraft, offering West Coast customers better trans-Atlantic access year-round and seasonally. All of these services will be available for sale this Saturday, Oct. 7. Learn more on Jetnet.

No need to be sorry. I can’t think of anybody that wants that base anyway!

^^^^Amen. A new base is the last thing we need right now.

The writer of the article probably did a google search for American Eagle and made the wrong assumption that Envoy would be doing it. Something I learned a long time ago is to never trust the media when it comes to aviation. Facts rarely matter.
