Details in your email. Some good, some not so good. All in all, it's about time. Reminder: DO NOT NEGOTIATE IN THE FORUMS!

There was something wrong with the email I received. It must have cut off just before the ďlong callĒ section.

I'll go on record with saying that this is a definite significant step in the right direction. The negotiations committee should be thanked.
Before we all start giving each other high fives, we can't kid ourselves into thinking that this will be a smooth transition.(If this thing gets approved as written.)
First, we have a company that has a history of not abiding by contractual language in the past.
Second, the scheduling department with its high turnover and certain pilot hating supervisors will most likely continue to play fast and loose with their own take on said language. They have a track record of abuse, especially when it comes to pilots that are unfamiliar with or uncertain about specifics in regards to the reserve section of the current CBA.
This goes without mentioning the learning curve to follow for both sides.
I truly hope this is a sign that things are beginning to turn around in regards to the QOL issues here.
I suspect with this announcement that the Towne Criers that troll this forum might actually start talking about reserve now that it has the "appearance" of changing for the better.

Never mind - I'm a definite "No" vote on this.

Seems like the company negotiated the bare minimum on this. Why can't the company offer us something industry leading when it comes to QOL issues?

Because they don't view any employee group as an asset

Voting No if given the opportunity. That's all I'll say.

No is good if not great. It's like you're starving and they gave you some crumbs, it's that simple of an analogy.

Voting opens on the 17th, closes on the 31st. The LOA will take 4 months from DOS to implement. Whether this passes or fails, they plan on continuing negotiations, but it sounds like 6 months from now.

As a guy staring at RSV in face until the day I flow or United calls, this is a big fat NO from me.

This was the sentiment in the crew room during the call last night.

And it should ALWAYS be no unless they fix a certain section that relates to working on an off day.

If the sentiment here is the majority, it sounds like the MEC leadership isnít in touch with the membership.

Another holiday gift to management to grease their flow to AA ?

They didn't even address the worst part of reserve. Why do they need so many people on ready reserve every day?
