I really wish with all these upgrades and record breaking new hires coming in the door- according to dacuj, that they would lift this permanent cap on flows. But everyone with a brain knew when it said for operational necessity it will be metered knew the co would never not meter.

I can't believe the company is going to force FOs to upgrade. Instead of fixing QOL issues, they are doing what they always do.

It's true. They will displace qualified FOs to CA if there are insufficient CA bids. Read the last part of the vacancy.

And with 150 vacancies, I think a lot of FOs will get displaced.

I see it now. Iím guessing that theyíre not going to like that can of worms. Iíve got to give it to management - when the opportunity to step on their dick presents itself, they stomp that sumb*tch!

Let's say you are FO 145 DFW.
What happen if you want CA 175 DFW but there is only CA 175 ORD available, are they gonna displace that guy to CA 175 ORD or to CA 145 XXX ?

    Also, between :
    - a FO 145 DFW seniority 1000
    - and a CA 175 ORD seniority 1100
Who is gonna be the first one to get CA 175 DFW? if a bid open for CA 175 DFW.

    Thanks

Not much choice. Someone has to foot the bill for their insatiable expansion goals. I would think most of these pilots forced into upgrade will be on reserve, many commuting. Even if they throw more hotel rooms out there, it's going to be a tough road and considering most of these pilots are years from flow due to metering at minimum rate, it might be a uncomfortably long one. The next question is then what happens when the inevitable slow down in new hires occurs ? What will the next draconian move be ?

My condolences to the latest group of punching bags.

If they force FOs to upgrade, those FOs could simply not pass training and then return to their previous position. Given how crappy reserve QOL (especially with commuting) is, a checkride bust might be worth it. And it won't keep someone from flowing.

Wouldn't they need to run a displacement in order to force upgrades?

And they'll be seat locked and not be able to flow. Good job Envoy for messing with people's lives.

Absolutely false. No seat lock with displacements.

Hold up. We're about fail checkrides so we don't have to upgrade? Boy did I pick the wrong f**king decade to start flying.

I read it wrong. Still, very pathetic a company will force people to upgrade. It's definitely a sign this airline has QOL and Pay issues if they have to force people to upgrade.
