Jepp FD pro database expanded, by a LOT

The data coverage has been stretched significantly. It didn't even fully cover Mexico before, now we got coverage for most of Brazil and seemingly all of the caribbean. Interestingly there's no data at all for the Embrear factory airport in Sao Jose, and while Manaus has enroute coverage, there's no airport charts for it, killing my theory that it's to facilitate 175 deliveries. Weirdly we have charts for Sao Paulo now. We also have charts for SJU, but I don't recall if we had them before, there's also 8 Cuban airports now with full IAP charts, could've sworn we had way less not long ago. I'm looking through the airport list on the app to see if we now have IAP charts for places we definitely didn't go before.

If anyone one hasnt updated their ipads recently, maybe take a screenshot and post it here for comparison purposes.

At any rate, nothing news-worthy, or a sign of things to come?

We had a couple 175s with worldwide databases. Was funny when an FO tried to convince me we were taking it to Europe.

It appears we are starting non stop service from XNA to SBRP. ribeirao preto. With an alternate of SBGR. São Paulo. Hence the reason for the expanded coverage area. Only problem is they don't have a waffle House down there so API is having issues finding a suitable hotel.

That coincides with the 140s new FMS so they can do those routes down there.

As far as no Waffle House, there has to be at least ONE seedy strip joint in the industrial lot around the airport across the street from the Sleep-Well-Inn

I finally realized that every time Jepp FD does that stupid the license agreement pop up again, there's been a change.

It's been brought to my attention that there's many new airport charts now as well as of today. We now have charts for MArtinique, St Marten, Antigua, US VI, French Guiana among others.

    Very intriguing, IMO

I was speaking to one of the pilots who ferry over the 175 from Brazil they said that the new routing is right over French Guiana, over
the Lesser Antilles, over night in St. Maarten, then over to the US. So I think this might be one reason why all that is on there now. The reason for the different routing is because of the turmoil in Venezuela.

Makes sense. That would explain why theres no charts for manaus as it used to be their main stopover IIRC.

That's the route our 40th 175 is taking on saturday/sunday. I personally would not mind a 15 hour SXM overnight...

Turmoil doesn't stop us from doing turns to Caracas and Maricaibo over here at AA.

    This one?

We don't have charts for SJK or BEL, weirdly. I guess they could just print them off though...

Also, PBS gets triggered by the 41st delivery. But I heard a rumor a while ago that it wasnt going to happen cuz it wasnt any better for the company in the end. Anyone know?

Ric told me a while back the company had no interest in it. I don't know how long that opinion will hold.

If the pilot group vote NO, we have to take a pay cut...and that is not going to help on the recruitment of much needed pilots. But the schedules are so bad, that PBS will make no difference. So VOTE NO, and let's see if the new "lower rates" bring more new hires. 😳😂😂😂😂😂
But we have "the flow", so working for free is better than not working at all, because THE FLOW is all we need. Tell that to a bank when you request a loan...they will understand. Use Dacuj as a reference in the loan application I promise the loan will be approved...but wait if you provide your ALPA # the bank will give you a line of credit too. So you can deferred payments till you flow.

Heard same from Rick and at latest recurrent. Tabled for now as implementation to a wary pilot group and so so feedback from the FAs are enough reasons to put it aside for now.
