    An Indian woman has overcome the misgivings of her local community to become the youngest female commander of a Boeing 777 aircraft in the world.
    Anny Divya took command of a 777, the world's largest twin jet, at the age of 30, proving wrong those who had tried to convince her parents it wasn't a viable career option.
    "Luckily my parents have been very supportive, even though a lot of people were telling them not to send me for flying lessons," she told Indian TV station

    What they fail to mention is that seniority plays a bigger role to hold that position than just skills.

    Nope. Seniority is not considered when upgrating at foreign carriers. "Merit" based upgrates are common...

    It's a big world out there. I personally know most to follow seniority system, but I don't know most of them.
    My point on the this topic, is that you can't really compare early command award. The best AA, UA, DAL pilot don't have the same upgrade opportunity as this girl had in India.
