Professional lurker coming out of the woodwork because I'm hoping I'm not the only one that has noticed this...

It just hit me the other day that I haven't seen or flown an E140 in months. The last 3ish that were still flying around recently (856AE, the only one with the new paint, and IIRC 854AE, 831AE + the other 2 who's tails I don't recall) show no recent activity in flightawre/flightradar24 historical data and they show their final flights as being SJT.

    https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N831AE
    https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N854AE

And yes I do remember they were officially supposed to be all gone this year, BUT I seem to also vividly recall an email months ago supposedly saying they'd be pulling many more E140s out of storage to cover the new bases.

Doing an RGOL in sabre shows those tails being put back in storage so I'm not going crazy.

So, what the hell is going on?

If you want to flow, this is a good thing.

I've noticed. Every time I see an airplane in our old paint scheme it's just a SW CRJ-200. Haven't flown a 140 in at least 2 months.

The company says a lot of things. *Shrug*

I could have sworn there was one other 140 that had the new paint. Anybody know for sure?

Those dirty, good for nothing tricksters!

Looks like my last 140 flight out of ORD was in December, but then again I haven't been flying much this year...

I heard that the 140's were getting the new interior and paint jobs before they hit the line again. And a deep clean

5 FO lines in August not covered in ORD with only 5 reserves, Several LGA CA slots unfilled.... I have a feeling we won't be seeing the 140s anytime soon.

All 140s are currently parked in SJT (except 2 in ABI and 2 in MQT) as per the original plan some years ago.

All 140s are also planned to come out of storage too as per a newer plan some months ago. In fact, the first 6 are already on the dock schedule for ABI and MQT with 820AE supposed to go to ABI for heavy check on or around 8/24. Supposedly all 140s will get new paint jobs, new interiors (some of our 145s already have it and its actually pretty nice) and possibly wifi but I havent heard about that for a while and it was under "financial analysis" which makes me think...no. They all have to go through heavy check in ABI or MQT first though. Between ABI down 1 dock for the TSA birds heavy check and the 140s returning (plus the normal check cycles), this could be good news for our guys up in MQT to go back to 3 shifts. I dont think SGF or LIT can do heavy checks on the 145 airframe.

Not sure if this will be a net gain or wash with the CRJs and 145s leaving to PSA and PDT. 539 just left for PSA and 617 just left for PDT within the past week.

Also I believe the delay was a scope limitation and we had to wait for the AWAC -200s to start coming off line which I believe, after talking with some management folks there, is occurring this or next month. I also remember something about PSA -200s being parked as well.

99% sure this is happening. In fact, I think installation is already in progress, but I could be wrong.

Dock 6 at ABI is now active, with N856AE (The one with the new paint, right?) and Dock 3 in MQT has 808 in it. 856 Looks to be going under heavy check with 808 some shorter type of check, done around 8/10.

Looks like MQT is back to 3 docks occupied at a time.

This will slow the flow unfortunately. Why?

Because we hardly have captains to staff them.

Might have something to do with Vets and the WW2 museum in MSY.
Are the FAs initials SF and RH?

It's official. 808 gets to be the first one back. I wonder if this one is decked out with all the new goodies.

It did it's first revenue flight yesterday to CLL apparently as a spare because a 145 went OTS. In full revenue operation today. It did not need a full heavy check so I doubt it has been updated with the FMS/paint etc. MQT looks to be doing heavy checks on 145 again (688 and 817 are there) which is good for those guys up there (saw an ad for hiring A&Ps for all the Mx bases) and ABI is up to 6 docks on the schedule (with 1 dedicated to the TSA planes).

856 and 817 are in MQT and ABI respectively. Also looks like they may even have to contract out some of the heavy checks. 676 goes to BNA tomorrow for heavy check and I assume that Embraer is doing it there.

Isn't ABI technically contract? They were eagle. Then somehow became independent and hired back on as a contact group? Or is it too soon to be sniffing glue?

I dont THINK so? I think i recall something similar in the works for MQT - get spun off as "Eagle Aviation Services" or something like that then contracted to do the work, but as far as I know, all our maintenance bases (https://www.envoyair.com/mechanics/ ) are still Envoy/AAG employees. MQT was actually just in one of those Eagle@wire.voynet and they are all Envoy/AAG employees
