    PP Company Seniority Question

If you flow with the PP do you keep any company seniority? I'm curious about the retirement travel benefits. If you have less than ten years left will you get them at AA?

You are a new hire at AA, but you keep your AAG/AMR hire date. However, the only thing really based off that is travel benefits. This was more important when there were 5 and 25 year milestones where fees were no longer collected. Since all non-rev is now free, that doesnt really matter but it does effect getting lifetime travel benefits with regard to the point plan as the OP asked. Travel benefits are an AAG level things and not dependent on department, CBA, etc.

At least this is how it was explained back in 2011, I am not sure if anything has changed. Basically if you look at your HI8, most people all those numbers are the same. However, some the first number is earlier than the others in the event they were an agent, ramper, etc prior to working here. Thats why before, you had guys who were new hires at Eagle who had free domestic coach travel as new hires - they were a ramper/gate agent for more than 5 years.

Pay, vacation, bidding, everything else is set to your hire date at AA and thus are treated as new hires.

Apparently I was wrong. It does sound like that even travel benefits start over when you flow as a PP because that latest MEC blast said that you have to do 6 months before you get your ZEDs back.

I think that's just for OAL not for AA travel.

Do PP keep their employee numbers? Or will we get new employers? I've heard yes.

Agreed but since you have already have completed 6 months at Envoy, that should not restart. Travel benefits were the only thing I thought transfered with the PPs but thats really sounding like it's not the case.

824 flows have been keeping their employee numbers. Not sure about PPs since none have gone over yet.

PPs keep their longevity for retirement travel benefits. PPs keep their employee numbers as well. Those are the only two things you take over as of right now.

That being said. If I keep my employee number. Wouldn't my company seniority be the same. Different than my pilot seniority? Thus I wouldn't wait 6 months for zed travel?

The company wants new hires to believe that when they get hired at envoy now, they are an "American" pilot, yet when they finally "flow" over in 5... 6... 10 years, they will be back at ground zero with nothing to show for their "dedication" to the company for past however many years. Not much of an incentive to stick around.

Everyone knew that 3 years ago.
Now they whine about it. Buyer beware.

I don't think anyone actually believes that. I mean besides the obvious trolls. Most have only commented about their hope to leave.
