NOW if they can get the pilots awarded upgrade in october 2016 into training that would be a good start, but they are still waiting.

Damn. I thought he would have beaten me to it. 100+ upgrades. Say it ain't so. Don't worry RiÁ is still metering the flow to the min Numbers. I guess a 100+ upgrades every quarter and 30+ new hire every month doesn't make a difference.

If they flow 25/month, they should mint new Captains at the same rate. Again, not bids or awards, but turning out 25 new captains each and every month finished with IOE and on-line. Same metric for new-hires. Otherwise Envoy shrinks and if it consistently shrinks, at some point Envoy upgrade/flow slows. Actually, since there WILL be varying degrees of outside attrition, conservatively that upgrade/new-hire figure should be at least 30-35/month to flow 25/month without contraction.

Again, the bid isn't bad news, so that's good, but the metrics haven't matched up to ensure BOTH a smoothly running flow at least at minimum rate AND a non-contracting airline which would jeopardize either the flow or the Envoy's feed footprint.

I gotta be honest, I am impressed with this bid. As stated above, as long as they churn out 30-35 captains a month, all is well at the Eagle. Assuming this is a quarterly thing, then this is 35 a month, assuming they can keep up with it.

Agreed. Even though there are significant issues that remain with QOL and our abysmal schedules, things are moving in a positive direction as far as the existence of the airline goes. My sources tell me that AAG does indeed have big plans for Envoy in the future but it's just a slow, work in progress that obviously can't happen overnight. As long as new hire numbers stay respectable then things will keep trending in the right direction. QOL and schedules though, I've just about lost faith that those two big ticket items will trend anywhere positive anytime soon. The only direction those are trending towards is into the toilet.

Just curious, but what are the "big" plans your sources convey ? The biggest (best) situation I can see for Envoy is what is the likely destination anyway, that being all E-175's, perhaps another domicile/hub, but not any larger then present which would mean Envoy ends up with about half the large RJ scope limit, while PSA and Piedmont probably become all 65-seat CRJ-700 operators. I wold expect at least one other E-175 player though to not put all their eggs in one basket. Don't forget though, that if your plan is to flow, a larger Envoy will likely be at the expense of mainline ops so what might be good for you over the next few years will become a headwind to some degree once you flow.

The purpose of the E-175 is to capture more mainline flying at AA plots expense, so no free ride for any big things in the future for Envoy. If AA plots buckle on scope in the future (you can be sure Doug would love that), then your career headwind component at AA just increased substantially.

The first thing that needs to be brought up in the next negotiations is first choice of regional lift, before any non-AAG carriers get anything.

We are at least seeing Envoy make demands for certain type of flying and AAG honoring it. Part of the reason LGA is over 5. In DFW as Mesa dumps their flying, Envoy said only same cities currently operated out of and mid day flying only. Won't solve world hunger but will help.
