Dec 24th saw 75 cx due to envoys inability to crew planes. Today on Xmas 139 flights have been canceled. Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part to be junior manned. To my fellow employees Merry Christmas![]()

thats the way it should be. jm should not be part of there planning. everyone enjoy Christmas and new years. we owe the company nothing and we definitely owe nothing to the passengers.

I just happen to stop by the CP office and yesterdays meltdown in DFW was blamed by some manager outside of the CP office on flight crews walking away from flights and not working with crew scheduling..... silly!!!
wonder how many missed assignments they gave out yesterday?

It makes sense for all the yes voters who plan on leaving in January to burn up all of their sick time in December. It's not like the company will pay them for it when they resign.
What is the company going to do? Fire them in February for excessive sick time?

Maybe that pilot sickout that was supposed to happen back in September was just a few months late?

That's a management decision....and a curious one at that. In the past, whenever the airline was in trouble, the first reaction is to furlough pilots then pack the lines. Instead of having 9 pilots fly 72 hour lines, they'd furlough one and have the remaining 8 fly 81 hour lines. It's cheaper that way. Keeping excess pilots is expensive since the company has to pay a portion of their medical insurance plus pay for their vacation, recurrent training, etc. Another tactic is to pack those lines up to 85-87 hours and put more pilots on Reserve for problems like we are encountering now.
So why hasn't the same management team who did this before not doing it now? The answer is obvious; they know if they furlough, those pilots will never come back. It's why I never believed the BS about getting rid of Envoy. If they really wanted to get rid of Envoy, they'd have furloughed several hundred pilots, packed the lines and put a bunch on Reserve. Why haven't they done this????

DW that is very true, they would have furloughed to begin the shutdown.
