    Whistle blower program

    Taken from Eaglelounge:

Make the call to 844-322-9277 (844-FAA-WBPP)

If you know crew scheduling is doing something illegal,
If you know maintenance is pencil whipping planes,
If your CPO is directing you to break the law (not contract, but the LAW)
If you're sick this weekend and have a doctors note yet Neider is hammering you,
If you know that our grievance chairman is away at training,

Don't call the union or mgt, call the FAA. They love hearing from pilots. Seriously.

The Whistleblower Protection Program Hotline phone number is: 844-322-9277 (844-FAA-WBPP)
This hotline is for employees of air carriers, air carrier contractors, and air carrier subcontractors who would like any information on the Whistleblower Protection Program (AIR21).
The Whistleblower Protection Program provides a process for employees of air carriers, their contractors, or subcontractors, to redress employment discrimination taken against them by their employer for submitting an aviation safety related issue to the employer or to the FAA.
You may leave a voice message for the hotline staff during non-duty or duty hours (8am to 4pm Eastern time) if no specialist is available.

    Two-edged sword. They'll find maintenance's screw-ups, but they'll also find ours.

    Then don't screw up.

The FAA understands human error. What they won't forgive is deliberate actions to get around rules such as pencil-whipping. If you sincerely did your best to do the job as safely as possible and remain well within all the rules but screwed up, they'll be more likely to issue a verbal warning or letter than a suspension or fine. Do it intentionally and you are toast.

I'd much rather piss off a boss, maybe even be fired, and still have my flight certificates than try to please management, get caught and violated by the FAA, be suspended and then be fired since no airline management system wants the liability of a pilot who intentionally violated the rules.
