As we work to restore American to greatness, we’re focused on several areas of the operation. One area in which we want to be industry leaders is pilot recruitment. And with the expansion of our regional family to include a larger number of wholly owned carriers, we see the relationship between the regional carriers and the mainline operation becoming increasingly important. To be the best, we want to hire and train the best, and position the mainline operation for success by coordinating efforts for pilot recruitment, hiring and training.

To help achieve this goal, Captain Bob Skinner will take on a new role, reporting directly to me, with a primary focus on creating ways to ensure that our wholly owned regional carriers continue to have the exceptional candidate pool we’ve experienced thus far. Captain Skinner will also work closely with each of our regional carriers to ensure our pilots are fully prepared to successfully transition to the new American when they are offered new hire positions.

Captain Skinner’s extensive training experience and overall passion for bringing new pilots into the industry will position American Airlines as a driving force in addressing and overcoming this industry challenge. In this new role, he will be uniquely positioned to help us maintain a steady supply of highly-skilled and customer-focused pilots.

I already work at AA. At least that's what the lanyard they gave me said on it.

Should probably focus on the operation, i.e sitting for 45 min for a gate today in ord because every gate is full. We're glad you're here!

They are already there. Even the Mesa 900's get a spot there. Also heard losing one or two L gates back to the city. Good news is that we will be able to leave the planes at the scenic pad walk to the parking lot to get lunch, something about the APU or airplane being left unattended for 20 mins is ok.LGA lost C-5 and C-6. Was told by my cousins uncles father's son's former roomate that Boston and Raleigh are opening as co domiciles. 90 min call out. 10 airport standby lines. We're glad you're here!

New Republic ad over on APC says, "You are what you fly," implying that the rest of us are no better than a 50-seat Brazilian sewage pipe, while a kid off the street will be far superior by chasing the 175. They really have run out of ideas. The desperation is amusing. Idiots...

I am far more interested in what my paycheck will buy than the kind of airplane I fly. Pay me enough and I'll do trans cons in EMB-145s. With fuel stops, of course.

I think think this is all BS. I think Mason is management.

This is all just smoke and mirrors to buy them more time as we are leaving too fast. Mason has somewhat accurate information but it is always just around the corner type garbage.

This announcement was to hope we would maybe just wait a little longer to bail, get through summer maybe?

who knows? I just know this announcement and Masons just around the corner garbage is getting old.

I do hope I am wrong but feel as if I a not.

Until I get a new LOA, an official communique from the union or the company detailing the latest deal, it's all just speculation. I won't be buying any stock based on his predictions.
