That's a lot of money per pilot that isn't working on the seniority list. Interesting He'd do that for an airline like Comair II. Create this program for a bunch of pilots that won't get jobs because the airline will be shut down. Oh well, better take concessions to pay for it just in case.

What a bunch of a$$ clowns. Oh the com air threats are humorous. If this is there business and negotiating intelligence then I bet they burn through that 10$ billion pretty quick. I can see the bait and switch now, you are hired at American eagle....which American eagle....republic...psa...pdt...transtates...envoy ..These college students are going to get educated early in their career not to trust anything from mgt.

I guarantee that these pilots from the universities will be placed at the lowest paid American Eagle feeder to recoup there 10,000$'s.

Whichever has the cheapest contract at the time is where they'll be heading. AND, I'm sure there's solid language and strong penalties for breaking the scholarship agreement. So, they get the classic fear grenade right out of the gates when they finish college and get their 1500 hours. Many other places will be hiring at that point, BUT, they must take the AE job, or Pay AAG the 10k, plus the retro benefits used etc. All while on proby pay if they opt to go elsewhere.

Where is the Great White Pilot Union ALPA National?
Management is instituting a system, by taking advantage of students, who, more than likely are desperate to fund their education and who do not realize the long term consequences of agreeing to this scheme which is designed to indenture them at low pay and distasteful work rules for many years once they are employed as a pilot.
ALPA National will stand idly by and allow airline managements to take advantage of students but will spend unlimited funds and countless hours lobbying Congress to stop Norwegian Air from flying to the US because ALPA is worried that the wages paid to the Norwegian Air pilots will undercut the high wages and benefits of the United and Delta pilots.

So, they get benefits and all that. do they also pay alpa dues then, or teamsters if they go to RAHEAGLE?

The irony is priceless:
ALpO will go to battle stations over Norwegian Air because they fear it will undercut wages and working conditions at US mainline carriers, but they HAVE NO PROBLEM with over 50% of the professional pilots actually IN THE US undercutting mainline carriers and are actually HELPING managements further depress wages and working conditions of that segment of the industry that ALpO refers to in a pejorative manner as the Fee For Departure (FFD) carriers.
This "union" is FUBAR and must be completely torn down and rebuilt lest it become no more than another management-centric "trade group".
